LA Fitness

The LA Fitness project demonstrated Riis Borg’s ability to successfully work and coordinate with owners, vendors and local authorities to develop a state-of-the-art exercise and fitness facility while overcoming latent challenges during the course of its completion. The build-out of a grocery store shell into a first-class facility required adherence to a demanding winter work schedule on both the interior and exterior of the building. Further challenging the project was the discovery of an unforeseen deteriorating roof, which required substantial replacement.  The process of replacing the roofing system temporarily compromised the building structure, requiring additional engineering and adaptive teamwork from all parties. Despite this added scope, the project was completed on time and exceeded expectations for the milestone opening date.
