Sisters of the Resurrection

The three-phase Sisters of the Resurrection project demonstrated the impact of Riis Borg’s superb work and strong client relationship. The client was so pleased with work during the first two phases that the third phase was awarded without a bidding process.

Project description:
• Phase I: Demolition of the original 1912 Catholic High School (roughly 100,000 square feet) and completion of a new infrastructure to support subsequent phases

• Phase II: Interior renovation to 20 assisted-living suites totaling 11,000 square feet on the existing facility’s third floor (work was completed in occupied living quarters); additional renovations to community dining and gathering areas

• Phase III: Construction of a new 22,400-square-foot, three-story building with structural steel and brick veneer to match the adjacent structure

Project highlights:
• Constructed assisted-living bedrooms with full bathrooms

• Constructed assisted-bathing facility with an ADA bath and nurse’s station

• 1,600-square-foot chapel with balcony, custom interior acoustics, and a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system

• New building (phase III) featured offices, multipurpose rooms, and fire protection to meet current city codes

• New roadways, walkways, additional parking, and extensive site development, including lighting and landscaping
