Built as one of the nation's fist urban resorts, the Drake Hotel gained in fame throughout the 1920’s. Over the last 10 years, the number of luxury hotels on North Michigan Avenue has increased, yet the Drake has maintained its premier position as Chicago’s most distinguished hotel, receiving the honor of being placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
