Developing office renovations in
an environment where research and academic activities take
place requires a spatial understanding that goes beyond
just academic. Riis Borg worked closely with architects
at HOK and the facility owner’s contractor
to develop offices that support this special work environment
and bring the learning experience to life for the 11th floor
renovation at the Northwestern University Rubloff Building
location
Project description: • 20,000 square foot interior
remodel including complete demolition, millwork, mechanical
and electrical. The 11th floor now has offices, kitchen areas,
and conference rooms that are home to various Northwestern
Department Offices including Northwestern University Clinical
and Translational Sciences Institute.
Project highlights: • Worked with the owner’s
contractor to coordinate and facilitate the installation
and wiring of the modular office furniture.
• Worked with Sensory Technologies to coordinate the
installation of the audio/ visual systems in the conference
room including the installation of
videoconferencing technologies.
• The Riis Borg Millshop fabricated and installed the
reception desk.
